In today’s business world employees are looking for jobs that are more than satisfying, they are looking for jobs, careers, that give them meaning and purpose. We spend a third of our life at work, it should be meaningful. Stanford Business School just released a study on creating PACE – Purpose, Autonomy, Collaboration and Excellence in individuals and companies. WOMEN IN BUSINESS

Forbes recently published the article – Fixing Business’s Gender Inequality at The Root by Liz Elting addressing an interesting concept – gender inequality will not be fixed in business by Tone at the Top within organizations but rather must be addressed in a grassroots effort starting with education in universities. INTERESTING IDEAS

There is much discussion today around business ethics, in fact I am speaking on ethical decision-making next month at the ACFE Global Conference. MIT Sloan Management Review recently published an article – The False Choice Between Business and Ethics by R. Edward Freeman and Bidhan (Bobby) L. Parmar that addresses The Separation Fallacy and how relationships play a role in how moral and ethical dilemmas are seen, or not seen. Scandals, frauds, bankruptcies, were supposed to at least slow down with Sarbanes-Oxley, Frank-Dodd, FCPA, UK Bribery Act, etc. But have they? Not according to The Economist. In a recent article – Scandals suggest standards have slipped in corporate America the authors examine the latest companies dominating media coverage such as Boeing, Facebook, Wells Fargo, Equifax and Goldman and the effect regulation, litigation and competition have on organizations in a capitalistic market.
